A true story about the sensitivety of the contacts inside a flexbile solar panels:

Do flexible solar panels deliver less power when there is too much sun?
No, the do not! The WP systems are very reliable!
The conventional 12V solar panel provides just as much power as the flexible solar panel.
However, heat can be a problem for every solar cell. Solar panels optimally work at 20° degree Celsius (temperature of the panel).
So, if the temperature of the panel increases, the optimal power generation changes.
A panel temperature of 60° degrees celius decreases the optimal power generation of approx. 20%.
A black camper van roof with black flexible solar panels can get up to 90° degrees Celcius and more.
In this case, the 12V solar panel might be more advantageous. Due to the installation of a bracket, a small gab is created between roof an solar panel. So the solar panel is well ventilated and cools down a bit.
A flexilble solar panel does not offer this option.
BUT, this is why we have white, flexible solar panels in our range, especially for van roofs that get heated easily.
These white flexible solar panels don't get too hot and are able to produce more power even on hot days.
