Aktivator-205 is a solvent-based, colorless adhesive cleaner that reacts with moisture and leaves behind adhesive compounds on the surface. These act as a bonding agent between the substrate and the primer or adhesive. Specially developed for pretreatment of bonding surfaces in combination with Sikaflex® and Sikasil® adhesives/sealants.
Application
Sika® Activator-205 is used to improve adhesion to non-porous substrates such as metals, plastics, ceramic screen prints and painted surfaces. Follow manufacturer's recommendations before using Sika® Activator-205 on materials susceptible to stress cracking. Preliminary tests must be carried out with original materials to avoid stress cracking. This product is suitable for experienced users only. To ensure adhesion and material compatibility, pre-tests must be performed with original materials under the specific conditions.
Note:
- The bonding surfaces must be clean, dry and free of grease, oil, dust and contaminants. The adhesion can be improved before the activator application by further pre-treatment steps, such as sanding or cleaning.
