How to reduce the noise level in the cab of campervans and campers?
Experience has shown that most of the noise comes from the engine or the body vibrations. Some methods for noise reduction have been proven successfully:- Insulate large metal surfaces in the engine compartment against vibrations.
- If possible, insulate the bulkhead between engine compartment and cab (often very difficult).
- Face the cab floor pan with soundproof mats.
- In panel vans, coat the metal floor of the vehicle and the side walls with the sound insulation mats and/or the acoustic fleece.
The offered sound insulation mats, or anti-noise mats will not completely solve the problem, but they could reduce some unwanted noise (passenger excluded). So the humming of the highway is not quite as obtrusive in the ear and you can switch into holiday mode relatively quickly after parking.
