You can operate absorption coolers with electricity or gas. Diffusion absorption coolers, the other word for the absorption coolers, work with the liquefaction and evaporation of refrigerant. The absorption cooler consists of an expeller, dehumidifier, condenser, evaporator, absorber, heat exchanger for the inert gas and heat exchanger for the solvent. In absorption coolers, solvent, refrigerant and auxiliary gas run through three different circuits. Operation is similar to that of a compressor, with a thermal drive.

How does an absorption cooler work?

The absorption cooler with 12V, 230V and gas operation, works with heat and cold.Heat water (solvent) mixed with ammonia in the expeller until ammonia vapor is produced. The dehumidifier separates the ammonia vapor from the rest of the water. The steam gives off its heat in the condenser to the heating water. The passage of a throttle causes the gas to liquefy. Once in the evaporator, the refrigerant becomes gaseous, absorbing air and water from the environment.

Let the liquid gas "free" in your absorption cooler, it quickly returns to its original gaseous state. This conversion creates the necessary cold. The solvent (water) continued to run in a separate circuit and reached the absorber. Refrigerants and solvents enter into a new liaison and the cycle begins all over again. These coolers have a medium cooling capacity and a complicated construction. These coolers are to be operated depending on the location. You may only operate this type of car cooler in a standing position. The cooling capacity of the absorption coolers is, as with the Peltier coolers, dependent on the outside temperature. You will therefore only get performance depending on the ambient temperature.

What's so great about the absorption cooler?  Absorption coolers are practically maintenance-free. There are actually no mechanical parts. The components are simple and run almost noiselessly. You can operate absorption coolers with gas or electricity that's why they are also-called 2 way cooler. This gives you maximum flexibility on vacations.
