Camping cooler bag

The camping cooler bag is the mostly used cooling option, its advantage is that you don't need electricity or a plug.
A camping cooler bag is the passive type of cooling - the camping cooler bag is great for short trips, shopping and a day at the beach. Its low cost and the long-lasting insulation performance have made these camping cooler bags indispensable for years. A good camping cooler bag is a must-have in every household.
But don't forget, the passive camping cooler bags warm up over time. So when things are getting warm or even start to melt, you need to either move them to a refrigerator quickly or enjoy them warm.

The trick: Don't open the camping cooler too often, keep it in a shady spot, have lots of cool packs.

Thermoelectric camping cooler

The detail is in the lid: The entire cooling system of the Peltier camping cooler is normally installed there. Since they are low-priced and easy to handle, the thermoelectric or Peltier camping cooler are widely used.

Did Peltier invent that too?

Absolutely! Thermoelectric camping coolers are named after the Peltier effect and therefore also called Peltier cooler. Jean Peltier (1785-1845) discovered that a temperature difference arises when current flows. This happens in one direction and when the current is reversed in the other direction. This means that this system is basically suitable for heating and cooling.

How does thermoelectric works?

Thermoelectric work as follows: If we cool the heating side of the Peltier element with a fan, we support the cooling side. In this way we produce more cold for the cold chamber. Peltier coolers always consist of a cooling element and a heating element for the heating side in the direction out of the coolers. The cooling result is lower, the more heat hits the heating side.

Thermoelectric camping coolers can be operated lying or standing if there is sufficient ventilation. For you, these camping coolers are an inexpensive alternative with active cooling capacity and a comparably large cooling space. Unfortunately, these camping coolers only have an unstable and non-controllable cooling capacity. Peltier coolers have no temperature control and are heavily dependent on the outside temperature. This means that the thermoelectric camping coolers run continuously at full power. This effort is reflected in the power consumption and the constant fan noise. Despite these small shortcomings, thermoelectric camping coolers are absolutely recommended.
