Satellite system for caravans - The most important buying criteria
Television via satellite is extremely popular with many campers. And not without reason, because: Those who receive satellite television can enjoy the greatest variety of programmes. Before you buy a satellite system, certain questions should be answered. Here is a small selection of the most important decision criteria and the corresponding questions.

Type of satellite dish: Where do I want satellite reception? The answer to this question points in the right direction. For example, a mobile satellite dish is suitable for campers, while a large satellite dish with a diameter of 80 cm is needed for interference-free reception.

Size of the satellite dish: Here, too, it depends on how well the conditions (clear view, no obstacles) are met at the planned installation site and whether the satellite system should be fixed or mobile.

Material / weight: The most important thing is that the satellite dish is made of rustproof material. And, of course, it should not be too heavy, as problems can occur with fixed satellite systems above a certain weight. Steel, plastic or aluminium is primarily a matter of taste. But the larger the satellite dish, the lighter the material used should be.

Colours: The choice of colour depends entirely on personal taste, but should not be overdone. It is advisable to take the surroundings into consideration.

F/D ratio: This refers to the ratio of the LNB mounting arm to the diameter of the satellite dish (F = feed arm, D = diameter). A ratio between 0.3 and 0.4 is recommended. Gain: Describes the gain of a satellite dish with the unit of measurement decibel. Weak reception requires a larger satellite dish.

LNB: This is usually already included in the scope. There are only differences in how many satellite receivers can be supplied with it without a multi-switch.

Azimuth / Elevation: Comes from Azimuth (AZ) and Elevation (EL). Azimuth refers to the alignment, elevation to the inclination of the bracket.
