The right camping gas cartridge for your camping gas stove or cooker!
Camping gas cansiters, Cadac gas cartridges or Campingaz cartridges are filled with liquefied petroleum gas, mostly butane, isoprene, propane or a more powerful mixture.
Camping gas cartridges or screw cartridges are still often used as a stand for the stove, meanwhile, there are significantly non-tiltable camping gas cartridge variants that are not expensive.

Screw-in cartridges, cartridges with a puncture or screw-in valve cartridges?
As you have probably already noticed, there are 3 different types of gas cartridges
- Bayonet valve cartridge
Gas cartridges are equipped with a valve and can therefore always be disconnected from the cooker. However, this valve is not screwed on. The bayonet-valve cartridge is plugged in and secured with a lever. This form of gas cartridge is rather rare in Germany.
- Screw-in valve cartridge
The matching connector is only screwed onto the gas cartridge. The gas cartridge only releases gas when the connection is screwed on. The screw-in valve cartridge can be removed and stored separately from the cooker or lamp without any problems.
- Cartridge
Probably the best known and simplest form of gas cartridge. A spike is inserted into the gas cartridge. The rubber seal on the cooker seals the puncture and the cooker can be used. However, after use, it is no longer possible to separate the gas cooker from the puncture cartridge. Since the rubber seal on the gas cartridge is not always 100% tight, the gas cartridge will empty over the long term if not used.
What is the shelf life of a gas cartridge for the gas cooker and where do I dispose of it?
A gas cartridge can be stored in a cool, dry room for almost ever. However, if there is corrosion or rust, we recommend that you do not use the gas cartridge. Completely empty gas cartridges can easily be disposed of in the yellow bag or the yellow bin. Cartridges empty themselves after a very short time. Screw-in and valve cartridges must be partially punctured in order to empty completely.
The Campingaz CV 300 or CV 470 plus
The Campingaz CV 470 or CV 300 is probably the best known gas cartridge on the camping market. The gas cartridges with the distinctive blue exterior are filled with a mixture of 80% butane and 20% propane gas. The CV300, CV470 is equipped with a screw cap. This is used to close the gas cartridge when you do not have a cooker, lamp or anything else attached to your screw-valve cartridge.
